monday monday

these weeks are just flying by. i know i say that in every post at the moment, but seriously, the days are flying by without me even noticing!

there's lotsa things i want to make at the moment, lotsa things i'm loving, just don't have the time to get them down on here. will try and get some computer and blog time this week.

last week and over the weekend i've been...

working at school.

when i'm not at school i'm at the shop.

started a 3wk contract in the library at school.

worked friday and saturday of the long weekend in the shop.

sunday mum and dad got my car going again after a long year.

husband, ma, pa and i then went shopping.

trying to stick to my elimination diet. i failed miserably last week.

baking lots of things this weekend. back on track this week.

baking marshmallows.

baking things for the shop.

baking the "chocolate" slice.

making cooked lunches and dinners for me.

cleaning out my disgusting car that's been open to nature for the last 18mths.

trying to find time for sewing.

cleaning the house and doing all the household jobs.

taking care of the boy who's in big trouble at school.

trying not to feel guilty for crashing on the couch nearly every afternoon last week.

explaining to everyone around why i'm so skinny and that no, i'm not anorexic.

making pear and citrus granita.

trying to find the maeve online mag without much success (can anyone help w that one??)

getting up at the same time every morning to take my temperature (thanks ovulation chart)

...and i actually keep coming back to this list as i write this post and it's getting larger and larger!

enough already.

i'm hoping with the diet back on track, a clean house (therefore a clearer head) and some creative juices flowing that this week will be much less crazy and will slow down just a touch so i can get some of the things on my list actually done!

now i'm off to go sit on the couch with the latest issues of frankie and mixtape to get some more inspiration while watching last nights episode of offspring before husband gets home and wants me to make dinner.

gonna have a go at making these tasty looking treats for the shop this week. filed them in my recipe favourites folder as soon as my eyes were set on them.

friday night drinks is this weeks polly dolly challenge.

(but please take note this is only purely for drinks and sitting down. if dancing will be occuring then i highly suggest a pair of flat shoes if you plan on walking the next day/some very strong drinks so you can't feel your feet....if you're like me anyway)

Monday: Make. Create. Sew

don't have much to report on this front.
i had the opportunity to sew yesterday afternoon for the first time in ages and inspiration just wouldnt come.
i had a play and have started making some necklaces.
it really came this morning.
if i'd had all day i'm sure i could have come up with and created something amazing.
i had to work in the shop though. so it came and now it's gone again.
i'm making some necklaces inspired by these from jackie bos...

i have nothing left in my market box (as i emptied it out in the shop so i had something to sell there :)  )
the next market will be a big one i think as it coincides with the swell sculpture festival.
i seriously need to get sewing and make some new stuff.

do you get bored of making the same stuff?
i do.
i always sell out of my bibs and feel like i should keep making more because they sell, but i'm kinda over making them.
i make a few of things then get bored of it.
maybe there's something wrong with me! haha

Saturday + Sunday: Seen + Salvaged

what glorious weather we've had this weekend! crossing my fingers and toes that spring is well and truly on its way. worked in the shop yesterday then went out for dinner with the fam for grandpa's 86th birthday. i ate so much stuff i shouldnt have eaten. so over the diet!

today we went to pottsville markets. i got the most awesome little table for a super cheap $10. i was very happy with my buy! husband wasn't too impressed. i won him over by saying it was going to the shop but i think i may just keep it for myself!

i also treated myself to an extra tasty lychee iceblock for $1.50. nice.

husband is at another bbq.

 i'm supposed to be sewing but don't know what to sew.

(i should really be cleaning the house as it's a pig-sty. meh)

have been checking out lots of blogs to inspire me.

found a few things i'm liking.

polly dolly

sail away was this weeks polly dolly challenge.

mine is very similar to dani's. sailing or sailor just screams stripes.

i'd wear bikinis most of the time, covering up with a striped tee and floral shorts.

a pair of classic ray bans, havaianas and a straw hat a la coco chanel to keep those rays at bay.

for those cooler nights, a simple black cardi always does the trick.

rainy days

wow. it's tuesday already. been super busy. the little shop has been open 2 days now. we had a really busy first day yesterday which was just great! today has been dreary and rainy, but these pictures have cheered me up a wee bit.

Saturday + Sunday: stalls + (the) Shop

so this will be a super quick post that needs to get done in the next 5 mins.

this weekend is super busy with my market this morning and then getting the shop all ready for opening on monday. so excited and so scared at the same time! craaaazy.

my business partner got all the furniture in while i was at the titans game freezing cold just to spend some quality time with husband.

it's looking a bit bare still at the moment, but wont be by tonight.

My Place + Yours x2

so i forgot to do/ran out of time to do last weeks theme which was favourite pair of shoes.

these are the brogues i bought last week and this is how i styled them on monday on my way to school (it was warm that day!). i could also show you the massive blisters i am still suffering from, but figure you don't need/want to see those :o)

i love them! patent and suede in the one shoe.

can it get better than that?

this weeks theme is green.

i haven't taken any new photos as one of my themes for project 365 was green a few months ago.

so being lazy and using those!

polly dolly

so 2 tries later it is finally up. and thank goodness cause that was my last effort.

this weeks polly dolly challenge was  bridesmaids.

now i have taken this challenge as to what i would make my bridesmaids wear.

i didnt have bridesmaids at our wedding, but i love the idea of them all wearing the same colour palette, with the same hair style (swept to the side in a low bun for this set) with the same flower clip, same make-up, same necklace but with different rings.

they would all be carrying one orchid stem too.

(i carried one orchid stem at my wedding...that was my sister!

Wednesday: Want It. Need It. Love It.

Want it: the warm weather to come back
on the weekend, the weather was delightful. this week has been freezing. simply put, i want some warm weather again. is that too much to ask???

we open on monday and one of the most important parts is still sitting out in the driveway waiting to be completed. i've traced 2 letters on so far. i really should be out there now. this was only supposed to be a quick post but it has taken me much longer than i thought it would. oops!

Monday: Make. Create. Sew

on saturday i went on my very first outing to the races. i was planning on wearing this, however when i went to get the dress, it was sold out. so settled for a cute skirt instead. but then came the dilemna of what to wear on my head. i'd bought a $5 headband but it didn't really match what the skirt, so had to find a new one. well i looked and tried on every headpiece in the new fancy diva-like store, but i wasn't sold. as per usual, i decided i'd have to make my own just the way i wanted it. so here it is...

i got the pattern of this tutorial on design sponge (scroll down towards the bottom)

 which i'd favourited ages ago. knew it would come in handy!!

it was so easy to make. i did it friday arvo while catching up on my tv shows.

attached it to a bit of elastic and ta-daaaa...a pretty floral headpiece.

and here it is in action...

i thought it was so cute.

and i love the skirt to bits!!

even if it is too big for me at the moment...a cute bow brooch at the back fixed that.
