Purple. Floral. Blurred.

Last weekend I bought myself a bunch of purple daisies at the farmers market. I started taking photos and found I liked the shades of purple and patterns they made when out of focus. I took some more. These were my favourites.

Super pretty if you ask me.

Have a great weekend.

my week in photos

it's a double edition this week.

as i mentioned i was super busy and was getting sick last weekend, so nothing much happened on the blog front.

last week, i bought these fancy glittery shoes. we went to hard rock cafe for dinner and i had my fave cocktail there - a pickled tink. it was mothers day last sunday. i bought mum some of the same shoes as in the first pic but leopard print ones - she has a thing for leopard print. mum, dad, myself and gramps met my aunt, uncle and cousin up at southbank for lunch and we'd had brekky with our friends. i had monday off sick with a cold and painted my nails with a very subtle geo print. i continued for the rest of the week to rattle around with a huge amount of vitamins inside me. i organised my desk space at work - i need everything out in plain view so i don't forget anything. i'm going to a masquerade ball next weekend, so have been trying on masks - i'm loving this cat one! we went to the surf club - currumbin - for my brother in laws birthday last night; i asked my husband for a straw in my ginger beer and this is what he came back with. i made a delicious smoothie for brekky this morning. i've also been crafting and making things today.

this week was a long tough one. i was exhausted yesterday after it. i've been sick, husbands been sick, i've had interviews and doctor appointments for both of us by the truck load. fun and games! i've been in a bit of a funk all week.

i'm hoping next week will be less of a right off and i'll get more done!
i'm in a creative buzz at the moment, so would love to not waste a minute of it.

hope you've had a lovely week and an even better one next week.

this week i made a pretty mini cake for a friend (i may have mentioned this one last week : / ). i made ice cream sandwiches. i giggled at my nephews little bum crack - hehehe. husband bought me a watch to match his own - his and hers watches! i did some exit condition reports at work + got quite overwhelmed during the week and was ready to bite someone's head off. I had the handmade market. i got flowers from the farmers market. i wore my yellow hightops today and i have just popped down the beach to marvel at the "super moon". my photos turned out like day light almost -  the moon is rather bright!

how's your week been? i hope you have an even better one next week!
bye bye.

My week in photos.

I thought this was published last night, but apparently not, so here I go again.

This week I painted a red heart on my nails for valentines day. I relaxed on the couch after work with my poppy (that's the cat) strewn over me. I took inventories in some of our units at work. The boys practised the pledge. They became Aussies the next day (no more immigration forms to sign and fill out  - YAY!!!). We took a trip to Southbank for lunch while we were in Brisbane. We then had 1kg of ribs to celebrate their citizenship (mum and I shared that kilo by the way). No photos of Friday and Saturday: friday arvo sucked, saturday was spent working, relaxing and cleaning. Then yesterday we booked our tickets for EuroDisney.

Hope you had a great week last week and in my next post inspires you to have a great week.

my week in photos

this week i managed to have my computer on for 45mins. i was pretty excited! I also managed to transfer all my photos onto the hard drive - documents and fonts next before i take it to the computer hospital. and as my computer isn't working and i am borrowing a laptop, i'm improvising.

so, this week i have...

...watched biggest loser as a family (again....are you noticing a pattern here? and an extra pair of legs??). Got an award for getting the most listings (percentage based) in a quarter between all the LJ Hookers on the Coast - yay for us little people! :) Found a delicious substitute to mint slices - gluten and dairy free. Made some tags and sent them off while I should have been working. Realised on friday arvo as i was doing an exit condition report on a multi million dollar property that my job's not always that bad - not bad views at all. I found this little gecko poking out from under the letter box. This morning I went for a bike ride down the beach, had a swim, then some coconut water when i got home (i know, those last two photos are back to front and it's seriously irritating me but they are staying that way!).

This afternoon I think I may watch some crappy TV shows, go to a friends BBQ then to the surf club for a drink or two before the week starts all over again.

my computer isn't cooperating with me at the moment, so a quick post from work today.

this week (well last week now) i went for a run - first in ages! we watched biggest loser as a family - again. i made a lemon yoghurt cake. went through a property with leopard print shag carpet. ate a hotdog with red lippy at the all stars rugby game. got this photo from hannah of her and our little bubba. met a friend at commune for brekky yesterday and went bowling with the family last night.

now i feel super dooper tired and have a feeling it's gooing to be a long day!

have a great week.

Rain, Sun + more Rain oh my!

This week we went bowling. We watched Biggest Loser as a whole family. It rained + it flooded. Bins floated + water had to be waded into to put the bins out (that's my dad after we finished work). I ate 2 pavalovas for dessert Australia Day - it was sunny! It rained some more and flooded some more. I went to the farmers market and the sun started to come out. This morning I baked some lemon and blueberry scones. This arvo dad's car broke down, so I had to rescue ma + pa and then waited for the tow truck.

Last week I missed out a square for big day out. Well here are 3 of my favourite shots from the day:

I've got my fingers crossed for some finer weather this week!

coming out of hiding...

I've spent the last few weeks getting my head around the fact that we are indeed in 2012 now. It's a bit nuts. I've decided this year will be my year - the last two had their ups and downs, so this year is for me. I'm working on rebranding tara louise designs and expanding the handmade market. i'd also love to work on starting a new career move. I've taken a few weeks to get my stuff together and I'm in the midst of writing lists of goals and getting down all my inspiration. oh and my computer is not cooperating with me and is constantly flashing different coloured screens at me - so that hasn't helped with the lack of blogs posts!

here's the general things i've been up to...

we've been bike riding and enjoying summer. playing xbox kinnect with ma and pa. my step son and mother in law arrived - that's my step sons crazy neat trolley (he's 14. starting to think he has developed ocd! maybe). trying to get my husband to eat vegemite. ate oodles of mini pavalova's. painted my nails pink. did hot hula and zumba then spent time looking at the sky when i got home. took my hair out one evening and marvelled at the full bodied curls that appeared, then was gutted because i running out to zumba and promplty sweated them out. and i made and ate butter pecan ice-cream. yum.

so one of my new goals is to write on this blog more regularly - which i was getting quite good at until my computer cracked it. ah well.

i made a wreath. had the work christmas party - and drank half a yummy cocktail (i was driver). donated some tops to the smith family for zumba. made dairy free brandy custard from scratch. had christmas lunch (and then christmas dinner). skyped with hannah jean and my little boy. waited for everything to open at the boxing day sales. checked out the surf at snapper and came home looking at a beautiful sunset. yesterday was more shopping, sleeping and reading.

i was crazy busy this week - being it was mainly the week before christmas. getting up at 5am every morning to space out my cooking requirements and recipes and finish making my gifts or wrapping them etc. the last coiuple of days i feel like i have caught up on my sleep a  bit and am starting to feel normal again. hip hip hooray.

My past few weeks in photos...

my poor blog has been a bit neglected lately. i've been pretty busy - hence the neglectful nature.

this is what i've been up to....

i've been catching up with friends. drinking delicious lemon and mint mocktails at the gorgeous point break in burleigh for our zumba christmas lunch. having brekky with the husband. creating the gift guide for the handmade markets christmas market. spending waaaaaaay too much time on photoshop as a result of that. we bought ourselves an xbox kinnect for christmas - husbands not great at keeping things wrapped up until the day. eating fresh cherries at work - straight off a clients tree. drinking delicious coffee with mumsy at gov's.

then that afternoon we had the handmade market which was moved into the office due to the annoyingly unpredictable weather #resultedinashitmoodandstressedme. went to watch foo fighters that night = best concert ever. really. i've been printing my own wrapping paper. making soy candles. eating this biccies that taste just like maccas cookies but i can eat them! working working working. and we've just been to the sunshine coast for the weekend and spent time drinking cocktails, lazing in the sauna and soaking up the 5star lifestyle. and doing lots of driving. because i have a great husband who is a fab bargain hunter and thinks to book things like that for us!

and well, now it's christmas day this weekend and i'm freaking out slightly.
i have oodles to do. oodles to make and working every day this week + saturday does not help me one little bit!

this week i had my birthday! i turned 27. i got a mini cupcake maker and churned out some red velvet cupcake bites super dooper fast. i also had the day off work - the first in 27 years - our family doesn't take days off school/work just because it's your birthday. i had a delicious cup of peppermint tea - love the pale green it goes as soon as the t.bag hits the water. i made some feathery christmas decorations. i ate gelati (chocolate sorbet and lime sorbet are my fave combination) for my birthday dinner dessert. we had our 2 bomby cars taken to the wreckers - hello clean front of house and bye to my very first car. i drank a yummy frozen peach ice tea at the farmers market. then had a coffee w husband. today i had my family birthday lunch - a picnic/feast/all you can eat smorgasboard in the backyard. it was scorching.

i've had a lovely birth-week and have felt very spoilt and loved.

hope you had a week just as great.

blog post catch-up

i've thought of a few posts i wanted to write but didn't have the time to do, so i'm going to mash them all into one condensed blogathon. here goes...hope i can remember them all now!

POST 1: BEAUTIFUL WINTERY SUNRISES

I took these photos on my phone (hence the bad quality) a few weeks ago while i was out running (i was planning on doing the 10km marathon....turns out it clashes with the finders keepers market, so i've ditched the marathon to go up and check out this fab market!) in the morning. I love this time of year for sunrises and sunsets. I may be freezing my butt off but I have this at the end to marvel at.

POST 2: A FLOWER

my husband came in the door one day a few weeks back, just from taking out the rubbish or something, and handed me this flower. i know it was from next door, but the fact that he thought to do it is so much nicer to me than spending $50 on a bunch of massive flowers (that well usually make me sneeze). i thought it was very sweet.

POST 3: ROLLING DOWN THE HILL

for my aunts birthday back in may we went to the botanical gardens in brisbane for a picnic lunch. we sat by the pond and while my cousin was thinking about where he could plank (this was as the planking craze went nutso) the large hill down to the pond was calling my name. i hadn't rolled down a hill for way too many years (turns out its not as easy when you're older). so i had a crack at rolling down the hill. i tried to enlist some others to roll with me, but i was on my own. i started out ok and got progressively worse...my cousin stepped in to help me out towards the bottom of the hill (and i blame most of my troubles with the rods in my back......they do not make for easy rolling. i tended to get get stuck ad have to push myself back over to keep rolling), but hey i had fun and was still finding grass in my hair 2-3 washes later :)

now i thought there were some more posts i wanted to do but can't remember what they were now, so that's about it.
