lady in red is the theme for this weeks polly dolly challenge.

i've gone for the choice of 3 dresses (as i'm never happy with just one option!) with neutral accessories...

i've just realised i don't have any red clothes really.

i do wear red lippy on the regular occassion these days though.

there's something about wearing red that makes you feel super dressed up and sexy.

i chose 3 dresses all quite baggy with a relaxed fit.. .as most of the dresses looked too liz hurley-ish for my tastes!

i chose neutral coloured shoes

(all high heels....i don't know why i never wear heels...must be the red dress.

 it calls for killer heels)

(love the tanned ones and glittery ones, and the middle ones too actually!!)

a neutral clutch (alexander mcqueen) with a bit of character and funk.

a simple gold chain and chunky ring with a red lip completes my look.

hair should be soft and wavy. relaxed.

i found this hard to start off with.

i kept thinking, i don't know what dress...i'd never buy a red dress!

however, the more i look at this set, the more i want to go out tomorrow and buy a red dress.

a day at home......

this is the first day at home that i've had in ages. i slept in till 8am too. would have liked to have done a bigger post but i've got a super dooper messy house to clean, i have markets on saturday and nothing much to sell at the moment and a long list of other things that need doing. fun and games! but thought while i had a few minutes that i didn't HAVE to do something, i'd write on here.

actually i might just link to some posts i've liked the past few days (still manage to check out much loved blogs!)

polly dolly

camping was this weeks theme over at danimezza for the polly dolly challenge.

now i don't camp. well we don't camp. neither of us. i went to school camps and they have scarred me for life. the closest we've got to camping as a family is hopping in a britz van and road tripping it down to sydney. we stopped at caravan parks but tried very hard to find a park with available ensuite bathrooms and a cabin if possible. we were well and truly over it by the end of our massive 10 day trip there and back. haha. if i had my way and i had to camp, i've agreed to a 12 man tent for the 3 of us or alternatively one of the mercedes caravans. now i know i'm coming off as a bit of a princess, but i'm not (i don't think!), i just don't do camping. but if i did, this is what i'd wear...

now i realised after i'd published the set that i'd picked the same top as dani.

it clearly works for camping!

i lived in jumpers, shorts and tights on our roadtrip.

sunnies, hat and cons/boots are a must.

havaianas are also a must and very handy (although not in the set).

a camera for getting random shots when bored.

dry shampoo as you never was your hair as often as while at home.

my phone...for music, games and general entertaining. and facebook on the go.

sketchbook and pencil for getting down those bursts of inspiration or for playing games while bored.

i also realised i forgot a pack of cards.

cheap, small...hours of entertainment.

little bursts

i had a little burst of inspiration this morning. i felt creatively charged. then i had to go do all the bits and pieces i needed to do and lost my charge. i've got a skirt i want to make i just can't get myself motivated enough to actually do it. very annoying. please tell me this happens to everyone else too!

i'm hoping once i get myself in a proper routine i'll be slightly more consistent on here, but until then i'll pop in with little bursts of things that are inspiring me as they happen. if i get time to get them on before they dissapear!

inspired by...

ice-cream trucks.

this past week amongst all the craziness that goes on with everyday life, i've been unusually inspired by ice-cream trucks. i usually just walk past them, but i've been noticing something different in them. it's the pretty retro colours, the summery feel of them, the allure perhaps as seeing as i can't eat them, i'll take photos instead! maybe? i tried finding some other photos, but they have dissapeared. poo it. these are pics i'm loving.

last weeks theme was:  maxi dress

i love maxi dresses.

i own quite a few in different styles.

love all three of these with any of the shoes to the side.

worn with a satchel type bag, hat and pretty necklace it is so simple yet chic and quirky.

love it!

the theme for this week is: metallics

i love sequined skits with an offbeat less dressy top.

worn with the pair of tan heels, chunky ring and natural shimmery makeup.

i love love love the top in the middle.

think i may just have to copy that one!

new day = new attitude

(autumn times)

new day = new attitude

this was my facebook status for today.

don't know if it's the warmer weather or the fact that i felt so sick all arvo from the food i'd eaten...

but whatever it was it has worked.

i woke up this morning with a new attitude towards my health.

i haven't been completely slack,

but i woke up with the urge to go for a run or do alot more exercise than i'm currently doing.

i woke up with the determination to really only eat the things i'm supposed to be eating at the moment

 (we'll see how long this determination lasts for though!).

if i was home today, i'd clean the house too, but i'm not, so i won't.

it's a nice feeling.

even though i haven't done anything about it yet, i feel rejuvenated already.

i've drawn in my sketch book, finished 2 necklaces, got myslef ready, checked out facebook and read these 2 posts by life's a journal (this is a lovely post!) and buy hand (great time management tips for those of us challenged in that area!)

and one last little bit of oomph to hopefully make you feel better about starting your day...

Saturday + Sunday

this weekend was pretty non-eventful. working in the shop for me yesterday and this morning. working on a few new designs yesterday afternoon. lunch at twin towns for fathers day lunch with the fam. rainy miserable day but quite humid. these little duckies were walking along the road this morning outside the house...was worried the cat would get them.

polly dolly x2

2 weeks of polly dolly in one.

last weeks was fashion week themed.

basics. classic. bit girly. funked up with an acid yellow or teal accessories. red lips. my ipod for the fashion week app to know whats what...and to play games when the shows are running late. and a pencil and paper to get down some awesome designs and inspiration.

this weeks theme is retro.

i think retro and i think seventies. i'm a hippy at heart and mum and dad thought i shoulda been born then! i do however like the 50s styles too.

2 dress options. a pair of flares and cool tee. a pair of chunky (modern) tan platforms.

tanned satchel. classic watch. simple bangles.

gloves for the 2 dress options.

and a polaroid is a must.

thats one thing i miss about those days.... i wish i had a polaroid that i could actually afford the film for!

never happened for me.
